Hometown Heroes
The Downtown Adrian Main Street DDA is starting a program to honor our military heroes by placing light pole banners along Main and Maumee Streets. Military members, their families, or friends can order a double-sided banner for a military person at a cost of $100.00. The banner will be displayed for one year.
Guidelines

The Honoree must be honorably discharged or fallen in the line of duty or on active duty with any branch of the United States Military

The Honoree must be a City of Adrian resident

Each banner will list the honoree's name and branch of service.

The Downtown Adrian Main Street DDA will have the sole responsibility of hanging and removal of the banner. Once produced and installed, the banners shall remain the property of the City of Adrian until removed and presented to the requester.

If the banner starts to show any signs of deterioration before the planned removal date, the banner will be removed and returned to the requester.

Those military men and women who have been honorably discharged will be designated with a white stars, those who have fallen in the line of duty a gold stars and active-duty members will be designated with a blue stars.

Applications will be considered on a first come first served basis.

2026 Annual Display
Armed Services Day – For a 4-week period including the 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after
Armed Services Day, May 17, 2026.
Veterans Day - For a 4-week period including the 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after
Veterans Day, November 11, 2026.
At the end of the initial display period, an additional fee ($50) may be paid to have the banner displayed for an additional year, as long, as the banner is still in good shape. At the end of the first display period or the one year extension period the banner will be given to the person who purchased it.
