About Us

What is a Downtown Development Authority?

A Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is a public entity created to support economic development, business vitality, and placemaking within a defined downtown district.

The DDA operates in partnership with the City but functions as its own governing body.

About the Board

The Downtown Adrian Main Street DDA is led by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of downtown residents, business owners, property owners, and community leaders. Board members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Commission, and serve without compensation.

The Board provides governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction, while day-to-day operations and program execution are managed by DDA staff.

The Board is committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of public resources.

How it Works

  • City of Adrian appoints Board members

  • DDA Board (Volunteer) provides oversight and direction

  • DDA Staff manage daily operations and programming
