Adrian City Market Application

Vendors are required to adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Please contact the Lenawee County Health Department, the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, and/or the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. 

Market Rates

Seasonal - $100

(Seasonal Rates receive 50% discount prior to April 12, 2024 if you are a returning vendor or a vendor from the Madison Farmers Market)

Weekly - $15

Payments may be made at Adrian City Hall or the Adrian City Market if prior arrangements have been made.

Vendor Bio

We would like our vendors to include a bio concerning their business. We would like to know how long you have been in/around the business, how long have you been attending markets and names of employees. Any information like that which we could use to do social media highlights. We want to make sure everyone can be seen by the public; you deserve to be acknowledged for being here at the Adrian City Market. This bio can be as long or as short as you wish it to be, but it must be turned in with your application:

General Information

 

  • The Adrian City Market will be held on Saturdays, May - October, from 9am-1pm at the Toledo Street Pavilion (115 Toledo Street, Adrian, MI), as well as during the monthly First Fridays event from 5 pm – 8 pm.

  • All supplies must be unloaded 60 minutes prior to the start of the event.

  • All Vendors must be setup and ready for customers 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

  • Vendors must contact the market organizer by 5 pm on Wednesday before the event if they are not able to attend.

 

Allowed Vendors

 

  • Arts & Crafts Vendors – All products shall be deemed home-crafted by you.

  • Antiques/Vintage Dealers – Products will be limited to antiques and vintage items. This is not a venue for “garage sale” or general “flea market” items. Dealers must agree to remove any articles the event organizer does not deem appropriate. Photos of items may be requested.

  • Produce, Baked Goods, Meat and Poultry –

  1. All produce must be grown by the vendor. Product may be sold by an employee of the vendor.

  2. Produce or products labeled “organic” must have been grown or raised on farms with organic certification. This certification may be requested by the event organizer.

  3. Canned foods, except jam, are not covered by the Cottage Food Law and therefore, must follow the rules and guidelines on the MDARD website for all applicable foods under Cottage Food Law.

  4. All meat and egg products must be properly refrigerated/frozen and properly labeled. Only products raised by the vendors may be sold.

  5. Meat must have been processed at a USDA inspected facility.

  6. Poultry must have been processed at a USDA or MDA inspected facility.

  7. Vendors selling eggs must comply with USDA rules if applicable to the Vendor.

  • The Market Master has the right to inspect produce, crafts, products, etc. for market alignment prior to opening of the event.

  • All required licenses and certifications must be displayed during the event.

  • Each Vendor is responsible for their own certifications and licenses. The Market Master will not be able to assist with this process.

 

Stall Fee

 

  • Fees for stall are $15 for a single event or $100 for all for summer events.

  • There will be no vendor drop-in or non-registered vendors allowed to participate in the market.

 

Stall Space

 

  • A stall space will be a 10’x10’ area.

  • Vendor is responsible for any tables, tents, or other items needed for display.

  • All tents and canopies must be weighted down. No staking is permitted.

 

Signage and Labeling

 

  • Vendors must clearly display their name or business and post prices for all items being sold.

  • Certifications and licenses must be posted during event hours.

 

Applications

 

  • All vendors must complete an application.

  • Products which the vendor plans to sell must be listed on the application and approved by the event organizer. Additional products brought to the event which were not listed will not be able to be sold until approved by the event manger.

 

Market Regulations

  • Vendors are responsible for cleaning all trash and waste within and around their stall.

  • Vendors are not allowed to smoke in the Adrian City Market

  • Vendors must wear appropriate clothing at all times. Shoes & shirts must be worn during event times.

  • No political solicitation is permitted in the Adrian City Market.

  • Solicitation and the distribution of unrelated market products are not permitted.

  • Animals/pets are not allowed in the stall with vendors (owners) during the event hours of operation.

  • Any violation of these rules or guidelines may result in the termination of involvement of the vendor in the Adrian City Market.

  • Vendors will be required to sign an indemnification agreement agreeing to hold the City harmless for any liability associated with their operation.

  • The Adrian City Market, City of Adrian, First Fridays or Market sponsors are not responsible for any injury, mishap, damage, or loss on any vendor stall/area or because of a product or stall component of the vendor. The vendor is solely responsible.

Participation Agreement

 

In an effort to create an environment conducive to a community gathering space where the public and vendors feel welcome and invited, the undersigned agree to the following: 

 

Vendors must display a positive attitude toward the Adrian City Market, other vendors, customers, First Fridays, the City of Adrian, and all event sponsors. Any concerns with those entities may be addressed off premises, preferably in writing, at an agreed time and place. 

 

At no time will the customers of the event be subjected to any disparaging conversation about the market, another vendor or the market manager. If this occurs, a vendor may be asked to vacate the premises and readmission to the market will be reviewed by the event organizer. 

 

I grant to the Adrian City Market and its representatives, the right to take photographs of me and my property at the Adrian City Market. I authorize the Adrian City Market its assignees and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print or electronically. 

 

I agree that the Adrian City Market may use such photographs of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purpose as publicity, illustration, advertising and Web content. 

 

I understand that SNAP payments are available at the market, and if I choose to participate in the SNAP program, the City will reimburse me for SNAP purchases by check, paid the day after each regular City Commission meeting, held generally on the first and third Mondays of each month.
